A tide is never a state, but rather a movement. Water coming in, water going out, never quite the same shore twice. But it always comes back.

THE IDEA BEHIND THE RETREAT

That movement of the ocean runs the week. The tide decides when we surf, and the day bends around it. Early waves and a mid-morning stretch, or a slower morning with practice as the sun goes down. For seven days, it's a schedule guided by the tides.

You may be between things when you arrive... between jobs, between chapters, between one version of yourself and the next. It's a lot like the tide: always moving, always changing, always coming back around. Between Tides is just that: moving with nature, and with life, without needing to know exactly where it lands.

Surf

Small, warm-water waves. You read them, you go — you can't control a wave, and that's kind of the fun of it.

Yoga
Art

A daily return to the body and the breath, whatever the ocean did that morning.

Hands-on, unhurried, no plan for where it lands — always somewhere good anyway.

The water is warm and the waves are plenty. Practice to be present and trust your body. Learn to let the water carry you, read the ocean, and tune into the rhythm of the tides.

  • Daily surf sessions with experienced local coaches.

  • Boards + equipment included.

  • Small coaching groups. Max of 3 people per surf coach.

  • Exploration of different surf spots depending on the tides, conditions and level of participants.

  • Mellow, sandy-bottom beach breaks, ideal for building confidence and enjoying your time in the water.

Cyanotype: We discover cyanotype, an old sun-powered printing process that creates deep-blue prints. Arrange leaves, shells, flowers, or other objects onto treated paper or fabric, let the sun do the work, and rinse to reveal the image. We’ll also have a selection of photo prints available that you can use for your prints. We’ll start by experimenting on paper and then create a tote bag using the technique. All materials are included.

Polymer Clay: We’ll get to know polymer clay together, which is a modelling clay that can be shaped by hand and baked in a regular oven to set. It’s great for making small dishes, jewellery, and other little objects. We’ll learn the basic techniques together and experiment with creating our own pieces. A chance to make a little handmade memory or maybe unlock a new hobby.

Jewelry Making: We'll spend an afternoon with a local artisan, learning a few simple knots and techniques for working with beads and shells, perhaps one you'll find yourself, along the beach. With some design examples to draw from, you'll design and make your own necklace or bracelet, alongside someone who's been working this craft locally for years. You'll have a small, handmade piece (a keepsake for the week) that you can wear home.

Surf

A daily yoga session in a beautiful yoga shala, with the sound of the ocean in the background. Gentle, slow-paced, and open to every level. No perfect form required, nothing to keep up with.

Just a daily return to the body and the breath, to practice daily routines and times to be present.

Each class carries a small theme that runs through the day quietly tying the yoga, the art, and the week together.

Different little art projects where you can do something with your hands and let your mind flow into creativity. With a little guidance, we’ll explore different materials and techniques and create small pieces that you can take home.

You can also continue working on your projects in your free time, before or after the sessions, whenever you feel inspired.
