the idea.

The tide runs the week. Some mornings it's calling us into the water early; other days it's a slow breakfast, with yoga mats out as the sun drops or a midday art project. A few days guided by the ocean.

Between sessions there's delicious food, good company and time to create and relax.
No pressure to transform, be any one thing. Just a feel-good week to recharge.

Because the space between tides, not quite ebb, not quite flow, is where the good stuff quietly happens. In the ocean, and in life.

the rhythm.

Instead of steering the week, we follow it. Because a tide is never a state, but a movement, always coming back, just never to quite the same place.

Here, surf, yoga, and art take equal turns. Warm waves to learn on or have fun sessions. Simple, unhurried yoga. Hands-on art with no right answer. Three easy ways into the same thing: slowing down and being present.

who is it for.

Anyone who wants an easy, fun week by the water & close to nature, surfing in warm water (first time or fiftieth), stretching, making something with your hands, and generally slowing down.

People between chapters, or just people who need some time away from the city and their phone. Come solo or bring a friend.

No experience needed. No pressure to perform. No big transformation required.

Just a slower pace and good company. Time to think, be present, & to recharge.

Lilaw

Hi I’m Lilaw, and together with Christine, I’ll be hosting and guiding you through the week. I’ll be leading the art sessions and joining you throughout the different activities.

I’ve always been drawn to creativity and photography, and have learned how much surfing, yoga, and making things can help us reconnect with ourselves and build trust. Letting myself be carried by the tide and trusting where it takes me has brought me to Nicaragua, along with many unexpected and beautiful things. I now work with Coco Loco and have fallen in love with this place, its nature, its vibe, and mostly its community.

That’s what I’d love to share during the retreat: less about achieving, more about trusting yourself, celebrating small successes, and finding something to take home with you.

Christine

Hi, I'm Christine and I'll be leading yoga throughout the week.

I came to yoga for pretty practical reasons. I needed to stretch because my body was tight from training, and for a long time that's mostly what it stayed: physical. That's shifted a lot over the years, even moreso after getting certified. I got curious about the quieter parts. The breath, the mind, what's actually going on underneath the stretch. These days I think of the physical practice less as the point, and more as a way in.

I love a slow flow combined with breathwork. There's also nothing like a restorative stretch after an early morning surf session. Sunrise in the water, then a slow, open-air practice as the morning settles in. It's one of my favorite ways to start the day, and I hope to share it with you!
